I have these as throw-ins for my emergencies when hunting. I can use them bowhunting and also for gun hunting. They are nice for hunting east Texas piney woods because of the briars and they add a layer of warmth and don't slip on the non-shooting hand. But, they changed the fingers up so the index finger on my bow-shooting finger is more for a gun and won't last long as a shooting glove for my bow. In case of an emergency, maybe. The XL fit me as they should, my previous older large size with better fingertips is correctly sized and very very snug. That said, the tactical material, snug fit, knuckle covers are great for real life high density undergrowth areas to protect your hands.
